A NEW mosaic has been unveiled at Dolgellau’s Free Library.
The Dolgellau Community Wellbeing Group, which meets weekly at the library has been working on the ‘collaborative artwork’ for the past five months and hopes the welcome mosaic will delight visitors for many years to come. The table with glass and ceramic mosaic will sit in the main hall.
The unveiling was carried out by the Mayor of Dolgellau, Cllr Delwyn Evans on Friday morning.
Before the unveiling, session leader Paul Taylor, who is the volunteer organiser and activity leader of the group, which is part of the Dolgellau Community Wellbeing Project, said: “Due to the way this was made, nobody other than myself has yet seen the completed work and I am overwhelmed by the item which has been produced by the collective efforts of the group.
“I am sure that those who have contributed to it will be justifiably proud of their artwork.”
The group, which is a project of the Meirionnydd-based charity, Tan y Maen Wellbeing Centre, is led by Eileen Griffiths and has the backing of local GPs and the Community Mental Health Team and receives a large number of referrals for people in need of support.
