Madam,

A big thank you is due to Aberystwyth town councillors Wendy Morris and Mair Benjamin.

Saturday, 4 June last saw the results of all the hard work of Cllr Wendy Morris for her part in arranging the Freedom of Aberystwyth Borough ceremony for one of the founder members of the Aberystwyth/St Brieuc official town twinning, Jean Guezennec. The ceremony and the parade of invited guests on the promenade with both French and Welsh flags flying was enjoyed by all.

Last Saturday, 11 June saw the result of all the hard work by Cllr Mair Benjamin and her helpers at her event held in and around the newly-refurbished bandstand to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday which attracted many hundreds of residents and visitors all enjoying the music, fun and games and so many refreshments donated by residents and local businesses. All these visitors, parents and grandparents witnessed the talent on the day with so many children taking part in the celebration. The Sgarmony Young Choir filling the stage had a standing ovation and also the young Abattak street dancers.

All acts were greatly appreciated. The party which was opened by Ceredigion MP Mark Williams was appreciated by all who attended. Thank you Wendy and Mair, this is positive action for the town and does not go unnoticed.

Yours etc
