WELSH Water have pledged to renew a water main at Llechryd following the burst which saw hundreds of homes and businesses in north Pembrokeshire and south Ceredigion without water last week.
The emergency saw bottled water distributed to customers in need at collection points at Crymych Rugby Club, The Salutation at Felindre Farchog and the car park opposite the Penybryn Arms.
Water was also tankered into key parts of the network to maintain supplies and by Thursday night water was said to have returned to all homes.
A spokesman for Welsh Water said on Friday: “Our team worked throughout the night and we can confirm that supplies to customers affected by the burst water main near Llechryd should now have returned.
“We are sincerely sorry to those customers who have been affected by the burst and thank them for their patience while we carried out the difficult repair. We have already confirmed we will be investing in renewing this water main from next April so we can help avoid such disruption in the future.
“As supplies return to normal, they may be intermittent and this could result in discoloured water for a period of time. This is not unusual after an incident of this nature and should clear within a short period of time.
“We would ask that if any customers in the area continue to have any issues with their supply that they contact us at dwrcymru.com or on 0800 052 0130.”
