It looks set to be a wet weekend for most of Wales with a yellow weather warning issued for Sunday – with up to 100mm of rain possible.

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for heavy rain on Sunday for a large swathe of mid and west Wales, away from coastal areas.

The warning runs from midnight on Sunday until 6pm with the Met Office warning: “Heavy rain is expected across Wales on Sunday.

“This follows a wet Saturday for many with widely 40-60 mm of rain during the weekend and some spots perhaps seeing 100 mm or more.”

The heavy rain is likely to lead to some disruption on Sunday according to forecasters with bus and train services probably affected with journey times taking longer.

Flooding of a few homes and businesses is likely, they add.
