Madam,
So the latest measure of madness from Gwynedd Council is to propose to get rid of rubbish bins from the whole of the county.
Well where do you think people will put rubbish if there are no bins. One thing is for certain, they won’t be taking it home.
The council’s remedy of getting rid of one problem, by taking it away, really is not the answer.
All of our counties have bins in the high street, and it would be a measure too far to take these bins away. These bins are an essential part of keeping the high street tidy. Removal of bins would make our streets a melting pot of rotting rubbish.
This problem of rubbish build-up will not be solved by taking bins away that people fill.
We only have to look at the measure of monthly rubbish removal to see it’s not working. Taking one job away creates two more, we can all see that!
Yours etc,
Jean Miles, Harlech.
