Madam,

The reader in Dolgellau writes of staying in a hotel in London and being well served there by incomers who spoke excellent English and worked efficiently. He goes on to state that “for whatever reason (the jobs) did not appeal to local people”.

I have no wish to quarrel with this reader,but it is a well known fact that incomers are willing to work for lower wages.

My question to the Dolgellau reader is: which country can we go to, on equal terms, for a better life?
