Madam,

Having recently moved to Ceredigion I wanted to obtain a Dalek Compost Bin, just like I had back in Pembrokeshire.

When I looked on the county council website I was horrified to see that they charge £44 per bin and that you need to collect them from County Hall, Aberaeron, which is at least one hour away by car.

My old council supplied these bins free of charge. After some research I found a company that sell these bins, made from recycled plastic, for a fraction of the price, £18, and delivered to your home.

I am left to wonder how Ceredigion Council can justify such a price, especially as they have probably purchased these at cost/trade price.

We are all encouraged to compost as much as we can, but the price this council charges discourages this.

Yours etc, Margaret Roberts, Ysbyty Ystwyth.
