Editor: There have been a number of letters (Cambrian News, 10 August, 24 August) regarding the contribution to greenhouse gasses from cows, and “other animals that produce gas”.
This is totally unfair. Cow intestines, relative to the size of animal, probably don’t produce more gas than human ones. Any culling should perhaps extend to human boys and men before bovines!
In addition, the bovine lifestyle of choice is very environmentally friendly.
They are vegetarian, they do not drive gas-guzzling cars or take frequent flights to holidays on the Mediterranean, and they do not update their mobile devices annually and use heavy-metal batteries and single-use plastics. Humans certainly do.
Would readers support a cull of local humans too?
Seems fairer than just blaming the poor, powerless, cows.
