BIRD fanatics will be flocking to an osprey centre for its annual celebration weekend.
This Saturday and Sunday (28-29 July) the Gwyl y Gweilch festival will take place in the Bywyd Gwyllt Glaslyn Wildlife visitor centre.
An array of experts will be on hand to explain the workings of the Osprey Centre and help any budding ornithologists get to grips with their local wildlife.
This year has been another interesting one for the resident ospreys.
“All three Glaslyn chicks have fledged now, they still return to the nest regularly, especially if they see Aran flying with a fish,” explained a Bywyd Gwyllt Glaslyn Wildlife spokesperson.
“Then all three land on the nest and try to take the fish.
“We are still showing live pictures at the visitor centre and will be doing so for several weeks yet!”
Alongside the live viewing, visitors will be able to enjoy stalls, children’s activities, nature walks, moths show and tell, and refreshments.
The event will run between 10am and 5pm on both days.
