A WOMAN was hospitalised on Monday evening after a car she was travelling in overturned on a notorious Meirionnydd road.
At around 7pm on Monday, emergency services rushed to the scene of the one-vehicle car crash (pictured) on the stretch of A494 between Bala and Llanuwchllyn, the scene of several serious accidents in recent years.
The crash occurred almost exactly one year after a motorcyclist had to be airlifted to Stoke General Hospital with “serious injuries” following a collision with a van in June 2015.
The woman in the overturned vehicle was quickly rescued and taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital in a “stable” condition, according to a spokesperson for the Welsh Ambulance Service.
Two fire appliances were called from Bala and Barmouth, but it is unclear whether the crews were involved in the rescue effort.
