A Llanegryn farmer will this week drive a tractor across Wales to raise money for charity.

Dafydd Jones, Wales YFC chairman, will finish the YFC year travelling around counties in a Massey Ferguson tractor before the organisation’s AGM.

He started his journey, which is in aid of Wales Air Ambulance, on Wednesday from his home county of Meirionnydd. This is a special place for him, as it’s where his YFC journey began, in his local club of Bryncrug.

From Meirionnydd, he headed to the northern counties of Eryri, Ynys Môn and Clwyd, before travelling down through the middle of the country, to Montgomery, Radnor and Brecknock.

Gwent and Glamorgan will be his next stops, before heading west to Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire, and landing in Ceredigion in Aberystwyth on Friday evening, just in time for the beginning of a very busy AGM weekend!

The AGM weekend will kick start with ‘Gig Ola’r Ha’’ hosted by Ceredigion YFC on the Friday evening.  Meetings will begin on the Saturday morning with the Annual General Meeting, and sub-committee meetings will take place during the afternoon.

Saturday evening, the chairman will host a ball for members and supporters, before ending the weekend with the council meeting on Sunday.

Dafydd Jones, Wales YFC chairman, said about the journey: “The adventure around Wales in the Massey Ferguson tractor will hopefully be a successful end to the great year I have had as Wales YFC chairman.  It’s great that we have partnered with Massey Ferguson for this and I look forward to meeting some of the suppliers. As well as this, meeting members on my journey will be an important part, as the members really are the foundation of our organisation and its success.”
