Madam,
It has come to our attention, as concerned parents and carers, that Ceredigion County Council did not take into consideration the continuity of care or education when awarding the recent Home to School tenders for Special Education Needs (SEN) children.
The Welsh Assembly guidance to authorities states that teachers, parents, carers and pupils have a right to have a say as to their pre-school care. None of these were consulted in this year’s new contracts.
If continuity of care was a factor, the tender wouldn’t have gone out to several new operators. It would have stayed with the current providers.
Continuity is so important to SEN pupils. We believe that you cannot put a price before care.
Yours etc,
