Young swimmers in Aberystwyth have raised a massive amount for Children in Need by taking on a 28-mile aquatic challenge.

Aberystwyth District Amateur Swimming Club collectively swam over 43,000 metres in a swimathon to raise money for Children in Need.

The event was organised by parent Carol Macy and supported by the club coaches and parents.

The children managed to raise nearly £1,400 for this worthwhile cause and were rewarded with new T-shirts which were partly-sponsored by Kara Weston.

The group said: “Thank you to everyone who supported the event.

“ADASC are grateful to Aberaeron Swimming Pool and the Aberystwyth University Sports Centre for allowing their young members to train at their facilities.

“The children, parents and coaches all look forward to being able to return to the Plascrug Leisure Centre when it reopens.”
