JON Bowie of Mercia Fell Runners was the winner of this year’s Ras y Gader, Cader Idris mountain race, regarded as one of the toughest fell races in Wales.
Bowie completed the course in a winning time of 01:26:25, to hold off the challenge of Richard Roberts of Eryri Harriers second in 01:28:18 and George Foster of Ambleside AC third in a time of 01:28:46.
The top 10 was completed by Billy Cartwright of Matlock AC, fourth in 01:31:21; Owen Roberts of Eryri Harriers, the first U23 runner in 01:32:03; Chris Mcmillan of Weston AC sixth in 01:35:07; Mark Palmer of Mynydd Du Mountain Runners the first M50 runner in 01:35:24; Martin Cliffe of Eryri Harriers, the first M40 runner in 01:36:14; Jason Williams of Calder Valley Fell Runners, the second M40 runner in 01:36:23; and Richard Williams, 01:36:39.
The top 10 female runners were Emma Gould of Mercia Fell RC first in 01:41:12; Miranda Grant of Hunters Bog Trotters second in 01:42:19; Katie Beecher of Mynydd Du Mountain Runners third in 01:47:52; Nina Skilton of Cannock Stafford AC fourth, and first F40 in 01:58:47; Megan Hughes of Eryri Harriers, fifth and second F40 in02:01:33; Rhian Probert of Mynydd Du, sixth and third F40 in 02:03:59; Sophie Gibbens of Marshall Milton Keynes AC seventh in 02:06:08; Rona Davies of Mynydd Du Mountain Runners, eighth and first F50 in 02:07:39; Jenny Towill, ninth in 02:08:54 and Daisy Hall of Stubbington Green 10th 02:09:07.
