Talybont won the toss and their decision to bowl first looked good as opener John Evans (4) chopped on to be dismissed by Tibin for 4, bringing Strange to the crease in the first over.
Alex Pitchford (10) was bowled by Phil Abrabam shortly after, bringing together the match-winning 144-run partnership between Strange (105) and captain Hywel Rees (50).
Neither batsman found full fluency on a slow pitch, but both survived to progress the score on to 171 before Strange was bowled by Anish Kuriakose on 105.
Joby Pappachen (2-41) made short work of the middle order, with two quick wickets.
This left the captain with the rear guard, who managed to add another 51 between them; Sam Jenkinson contributing 12 and Sion Lewis 13.
Rees was bowled by Kuriakose when on 50 with the Talybont bowler finishing with best figures of 3-50 off nine overs. as Aberaeron finished on 226-9.
Aberaeron’s opening bowlers, Paul Hughes and Hywel Rees, gave nothing away and forced scoreboard pressure resulting in Hughes making an early break through.
He then quickly followed up with another; good catches from Sion Lewis and Chris Strange helping.
Tibin showed some strong resistance before Hughes bowled him on 22.
Josheff Joshi, who had battled from the start, managed 18 before being dismissed by Steffan Rees, who was bowling with good pace and aggression.
Abraham batted well for his 25 before being caught in the deep by Strange off John Evans.
Jacob Jenkinson took the eighth wicket when Hywel made a great catch to dismiss Sojan on 25. Kuriakose (10) was another victim of Steffan’s.
Mike Filiji batted with some flare to top-score for his team on 48 not out. Dave Floyd made a good stumping to give Sion Lewis a wicket.
The 40 overs were completed with one wicket remaining and 192 runs on the board as Paul Hughes 3-27 from nine overs and Steffan Rees 3-37 from eight overs finished as the pick of the bowlers.
