LLANDYSUL slipped deeper into relegation danger in the South Wales Cricket Association division one after losing by eight wickets at rivals Merthyr Tydfil.

After winning the toss at Hills Plymouth, the visitors elected to bat, but they found runs hard to come by as they managed a meagre 103 all out after 32 overs.

Llewellyn Hughes (15), Andrew Edwards (30, with 7 fours) and Steffan Jones (12) managed to take the score to 99 for 6, but no other Llandysul batsman managed double figures as Rhys Lewis (3 for 14 from 6 overs) and Matthew Davies (3 for 15 from 6 overs) tore through the line up.

In reply, the home batsmen set about confidently chasing down their target and George Murphy fired a six and a four, before he was bowled by 11 by Ieuan Paske.

Opener Andrew Foley was joined by Rhys Boswell and they took the score on from 25 for 1 to 82 for 2, when Boswell was finally caught for a knock of 44 from the bowling of Llewellyn Hughes, having struck a total of 5 fours and three sixes.

Foley struck 6 fours in his 30 not out and Blaine Harris hit a four and 2 sixes in his unbeaten 18, before a convincing victory was secured in the 14th over at 106 for 2.
