PWLLHELI’S bowlers were on fine form as they kept the pressure on North Wales League division one leaders Northop with a healthy eight-wicket win over Mold.
Jason Underwood (2-12 and four maidens) and Sean Reilly (2-13 in five overs) each took two wickets as they limited the Mold batsmen to just 77 runs.
Opener George Denz made 24 but Reilly’s bowling led to catches from Chris Moore and Keiran Roberts to dismiss John Crane and Duane Williams for ducks.
John Williams added 17 before he was caught by Craig Edwards off Michael Hughes (1-14) before Moore caught Kyran van der Kooij for 11 off Morgan Murray-Williams (1-21).
Keith Embleton added 11 before he was run out by Hughes while Joe Edwards and Neil Hughes both failed to add to Mold’s total of 77.
Underwood led the batting effort for Pwllheli with an unbeaten 33, including two fours and one six.
He was assisted by Moore (22) and Murray-Williams (10) before Owen Reilly added seven to help Pwllheli to their target of 78 with the loss of just two wickets.
Pwllheli are next in action at home to Gwersyllt Park on Saturday. The Seconds are at St Asaph Seconds.
