PWLLHELI bounced back from three successive defeats to triumph in a high scoring encounter against visitors Llandudno in the North Wales Premier League.
Electing to bat first, Pwllheli were indebted to a massive stand of 153 runs between Lawrence Barraclough and Tristan Coetzee after the loss of opener Craig Edwards, bowled by Danial Evans.
Coetzee eventually went for 89, from just 78 balls, having struck 11 fours and 2 big sixes, when dismissed lbw from bowler Jamie Grimshaw.
Opener Barraclough followed soon when he was caught by Sam Rimmington off the bowling of Grimshaw (2 for 26 from 5 overs), after hitting a fine 75 runs off 81 balls, including 8 boundaries.
Wickets fell steadily as the Dudno bowlers got on top, but captain Morgan Murray-Williams was resolute at the other end, striking 47 runs, with 7 fours, before being run out by Jake Sumbland.
Pwllheli reached an excellent total of 237 for 8 from their 40 overs, with Jack Rimmington (2 for 55 from 10 overs), Tom Thornton (2 for 35 from 8 overs) and Grimshaw all grabbing two wickets apiece for the visitors.
Sporting their new dazzling green caps, Pwllheli took to the field to face an onslaught from Llandudno openers Sam Rimmington and Danial Evans, who racked up 95 runs from the first 12 overs.
Rimmington went to a fine boundary catch from Adam Williams, from the bowling of Tristan Coetzee, after hitting a quick-fire 47 runs, with 5 fours and a six off 38 balls.
Fellow opener Evans fell soon after for 48, with 6 fours, to a run-out by Neil Williams, which saw both batsmen at the same end.
