ABERYSTWYTH Town have a chance to reclaim a top three position in the Dafabet Welsh Premier League when they welcome former manager Alan Morgan’s high-flying Llandudno side to Park Avenue tonight (Friday, ko 7.45pm).
Morgan’s side, who beat Aber 3-2 in the opening day of the season at Maesdu Park, moved above Aber on goal difference last weekend, after Ian Hughes’ team had slipped to a 4-0 defeat against The New Saints. Depleted Aber, however, are looking to overcome their injury concerns and make the most of home advantage in their second successive Friday match at Park Avenue.
Assistant manager Wyn Thomas said the Aberystwyth management will be looking for a positive response, despite seeing both Craig Williams and Geoff Kellaway join the growing injury list at the club.
Having visited Bronglais Hospital last weekend, Williams has a badly swollen ankle while Kellaway has ligament damage in his right knee, which will enforce a lengthy lay off. Aber were already without injured Rhys Griffiths, Darren Thomas and Ross Stephens last Friday, but may have a chance of recovering in time for the game, whilst loan players Jamie Reed and Chris Mullock, who were also unavailable to play against their registered club last Friday, will return.
A Black and Green Halloween promotion is offering half price entry for anyone in fancy dress, and the best costume will win free entry for five future league home games at Park Avenue.
Free ’Blood’ Soup will be available for all supporters in the John Charles Lounge, which will be decorated on the evening and offering drinks promotions from 6.15pm until the final whistle. Admission otherwise will cost £6 for Adults, £4 Concessions and £1 for Kids
