ABERYSTWYTH Town keeper Chris Mullock has signed for the Seasiders on a permanent basis following his successful loan spell from Welsh Premier League leaders The New Saints.

The 28-year-old joined the Seasiders for a second spell last summer, and produced some crucial performances this season.

He scored a spectacular 65-yard goal to christen the new 3G surface at Park Avenue, and has made a total of 96 Welsh Premier appearances to date.

"Chris joined the Black and Greens on loan in the Autumn and has been in top form ever since," said a Club statement.

"He has been a key Player in Aberystwyth's surge from a bottom two position to top six contenders.

"He even earned national fame in October by scoring a 65 yard free kick against Rhyl to mark the first ever competitive goal on Park Avenue’s 3G surface, and has contributed to five clean sheets in 12 Dafabet Welsh Premier matches.

"His loan period expired on 1 January, but Club officials have moved quickly to secure his permanent transfer.

"We thank officials at The New Saints for their cooperation in concluding this important deal for the Club."

Mullock was a product of the Wrexham Academy, and spent several seasons with Cefn Druids.

Signed by The New Saints in the summer of 2013 as cover for first-choice keeper Paul Harrison, he was loaned to Newtown in September the same year and then to Aberystwyth for the first time in 2015.See Chris Mullock’s 65-yard goal against Rhyl below:
