ABERDYFI missed a chance to close in on Dolgellau at the top of the Cambrian Tyres Aberystwyth and District League division one table as they were beaten 5-2 at home to Padarn United.

Aberystwyth University Reserves progressed to the semi-finals of the Cambrian Tyres League Cup with a solid 4-2 win against visitors Talybont.
The students went into a two-goal lead within the first 10 minutes courtesy of a superb curling strike from Ryan Quantrill and then Ynyr James, following a quick counter attack.
The villagers replied with a penalty, converted by Robbie Southgate, but the students restored their two-goal advantage when Owain Morris converted from the spot at the other end.
Ynyr James made it 4-1 at the interval when he fired into the top corner from the tightest of angles, and although Talybont reduced the deficit through Ben Hall with 10 minutes to go, the students held out for their win.
Borth United Reserves meanwhile booked their place in the third round of the Len & Julia Newman Memorial Trophy with a 3-1 win at Tregaron.
Goals from Steven Bailey, James Davies and Scott Wilson earned the visitors a ticket into the next round, with Caio ap Rhys scoring for the Turfs.
