ABERYSTWYYTH Town’s winless run continued as they crashed out of the Nathaniel MG League Cup with a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Cymru Alliance high-fliers Airbus UK Broughton at Park Avenue on Tuesday night.

The Wingmakers made a near-200 mile Tuesday night round trip worthwhile as they claimed a second Welsh Premier scalp in the competition, having beaten Cefn Druids in the previous round.

Airbus made the early running with Alfons Fosu-Mensah seeing a deflected shot fly just wide, before Ryan Wollacott and Luke Borrelli both tested keeper Andy Coughlin.

Fosu-Mensah had a great chance to put Airbus in front, but sent his shot just past the far post and, two minutes later, Aber took the lead when former Wingmaker Ryan Wade scored after being played-in by Borrelli.

Pavel Vieira looped a shot over the home bar and Fosu-Mensah again went close with a long range effort, before Leo Riley scored a close range equaliser three minutes before the half-time whistle.

Four minutes after the break, Fosu-Mensah put the Wingmakers in front with a brilliant finish as his side went on to dominate the second half.

The Dutchman almost got another, Riley sent a rasping shot just over the bar and Vieira went close in the 89th-minute as Airbus finished worthy winners.
