BLAENAU Ffestiniog Amateurs were unable to repeat their 3-2 FAW Trophy win over Gaerwen, as the visitors registered a convincing 5-0 win in the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance division two.
It took Gaerwen just nine minutes to open the scoring when Steven Jones swept home a low free kick, and they almost extended their lead when a header from a corner kick by Gethin Davies was headed clear by a home defender.
They doubled their lead when a corner was half cleared by the home side, only for it to be sent back into the goalmouth, and Steven Jones netted with his header.
Within three minutes of the second half Garwen went further ahead as Dylan Williams scored from close range, and in the next 10 minutes the Anglesey side added another two goals, which were scored by Chris Bennett.
The hosts had to wait until after the hour mark to have a decent attempt at the visitors’ goal, when Bryn Humphreys’ effort was well saved by keeper Gwyndaf Owen.
Blaenau went down to 10 men when Gethin Edwards was shown a straight red for a late challenge as his opponent went through.
• Penmaenmawr Phoenix are eight points clear at the top after two goals from Simon Davies sealed a 5-3 success at Pentraeth.
Daniel Williams netted on 22 minutes, Davies on 45 and 80, Liam Griffiths on 79 and Darren Evans on 83, whilst Pentraeth, replied via Shaun Monument on 35 and 87 and Josh Owen on 50.
Melinden won 3-2 at Llannerchymedd, with goals from Nathan Griffiths after 4 minutes, Chris Owen on 43 and Mark Bright on 53. Matthew Jones had replied on 50 and then Gethin Hughes on 55.
Goals from Joel Lloyd on 49 minutes, Allan Davies on 75 and Steve Cheund on 82 earned Llandudno Albion a 3-2 win at Felinheli, who repied twice through Gruff John on 4 and 89 minutes.
Prestatyn Sports won 5-1 at Llanfairpwll, with goals by Rob Dunn on 8 minutes, James Harker on 63 and 74, Dominic Donnelly on 88 and George Zebo on 90. Owain Jones had replied after 35.
Cemaes Bay drew 2-2 at Mochdre, with Liam Rodruguz scoring on 79 and Kerion Donnelly on 90.
