BORTH United remain rooted to the bottom of the Spar Mid Wales League division one after they slipped to back-to-back defeats against Tywyn/Bryncrug in midweek and Llanidloes on Saturday.
Aled Jones fired a well-taken hat-trick as Tywyn recorded a 5-1 win on Wednesday, having beaten keeper Alex Pennock for his first goal after just a few minutes.
Borth equalised on 15 minutes when Clive Morgan scored from the penalty spot, and it remained at 1-1 at the interval.
With the wind at their backs, it took three minutes for the visitors to regain the lead after the restart, however, as Tom Allen-Davies scored with a cool finish.
On the half-hour Aled Jones made it 3-1 with a brilliant volley at the far post and five minutes later Jones scored again with a superb free kick from 20 yards out to complete his well-deserved hat-trick.
In the final minutes Mark Edmondson scored with a deft finish for a solid win.
Borth United went down 4-1 against third-plced Llanidloes Town at a sun-drenched Uppingham Fields on Saturday, with Josh Hartrick marking his return from injury with a brace of penalties.
Drew Reynolds opened the scoring with low shot into the bottom corner, but Borth hit back when Ryan Edwards’ good run up play allowed James Davies to equalise.
The visitors regained the lead on the half hour when Hartrick scored from the penalty spot, after he was brought down in the box, and it needed a superb one handed save by Borth keeper Sean Gates to keep the score at 2-1 at the interval.
Within 10 minutes of the second half, Hartrick converted his second penalty, after Ashley Owen was brought down, and despite a determined effort by Borth, it was Owen who completed the scoring with a low strike in the last minute.
Borth are now six points adrift of second-from-bottom Machynlleth, who were beaten 6-1 on Saturday by Llanfair United, who kept up the pressure on Llanidloes in third place with four games to go.
Mach had opened the scoring early on through Paul Jones, but Llanfair were level through Josh Astley on 22 minutes.
Alun Hughes put Llanfair 2-1 up just before the break and right on half time, a great finish from outside the box by Karl Seliaerts put them 3-1 in front at half time.
Karl Seliaerts scored again on 55 minutes with a thumping header off an Andrew Hughes cross, before Dan Kenyon netted with a great 25 yard strike into the top corner of the net, and Phil Hughes made it 6-1 with an injury time header.
Drew Page had scored a hat-trick as Machynlleth registered a welcome 3-1 win over Aberaeron on Wednesday evening.
Dave Evans scored first for Aberaeron, but the main disappointment for Mach was Sion Daf being sent off for two bookings, and Callum Page being taken to hospital with a suspected broken collar bone.
Aberaeron succumbed to a last minute winner as they were beaten 3-2 last weekend at Berriew, through goals by Jake Mann, Jack Weaver and Harry Watkins. Dan Bourne and Mike Gornall replied.
A Tom Williams goal meanwhile earned Bow Street a hard-earned 1-1 draw at leaders Welshpool Town, with Ricky Litchfield on target for the home side.
An Ian Probert hat-trick earned Welshpool a 5-2 midweek win at Churchstoke, with Will Thomas and Adam Davies also scoring. Stoke replied through Jamie Betton and a screamer by Aidan Oakley.
Iwan Matthews scored four goals as Llanrhaeadr remained favourites for the title as they hammered Kerry 5-1, with Chris Aitken also scoring. Matt Mumford netted a consolation effort for Kerry.
Tywyn/Bryncug maintained their winning ways with a 3-0 win over Radnor Valley on Saturday, courtesy of goals by Aled Jones, with his 20th strike of the season, Nick Williams and an own goal.
Connor Bird scored hat-trick as Knighton Town hammered Churchstoke 6-0 with further goals coming from Adam Farmer, with a brace, and Sam Williams.
Goals from Ashley Jones and Shaun Nicholls earned Llandrindod Wells a 2-1 win over Carno, Andy Evans replying.
In midweek Kieran Mccarley had scored twice as Llandrindod beat Carno 4-1 at home, with further goals from Ashley Jones and Ben Jones. Joe Morris replied.
Kerry beat Berriew 4-3 in midweek, with goals by Keane Marks, James Price, Mark Hughes and Luke Mumford. Luke Vickers, Josh Morgan and Marc Jones replied.
