AFTER four away trips in a row, Barmouth and Dyffryn United pegged Welsh Alliance division one high-fliers Llandyrnog United back to a 2-2 draw at Wern Mynach.
A small crowd welcomed back the team back from two victories on the road at Greenfield and Trearddur Bay, as both sides struggled in the cold, swirling wind.
Paul Lewis, Chris Wilkins and Rob Murfet all went close for the hosts, but Llandyrnog made the breakthrough on 32 minutes when Sion Davies headed in Dan Lloyd’s cross at the far post.
The visitors doubled their lead on 63 minutes when Mike Lundstrum converted a penalty for a challenge just inside the box, but a minute later Chris Wilkins was fouled and Rob Murfet slotted home from the spot.
In the final 20 minutes Barmouth began to dominate, and Elwyn Edwards brought the home side level as when he headed in a corner on 73 minutes for 2-2. Edwards and Lewis went close to snatching a winner late on as the visitors held on for a hard-earned draw.
