BARMOUTH and Dyffryn United shrugged aside five straight defeats in the Welsh Alliance to book their place in the first round draw of the Welsh Cup with a 3-2 victory at Felinheli last weekend.

Llion Owen opened the scoring on 10 minutes and Elwyn Edwards got the next goal on 21 minutes, but the Welsh Alliance division two newcomers hit back with goals from Daniel Hughes on 24 minutes and then Ryan Kane on 33.

Barmouth, however, hit a late winner as Chris Wilkins crossed for Nathan Warren to score with an angled finish.

Penrhyndeudraeth were eliminated by Llanrug United, whose 4-0 win could have been even more at the end.

After first half goals from Gavin Jones on 18 minutes and David Noel Williams on 29, the hosts sealed victory through Dylan Owen on 62 from a penalty and Carl Griffiths on 72.

Penrhyn had been awarded a first half penalty for a foul on Tom Smith, but Meilir Williams saw his spot kick saved by goalkeeper Dylan Roberts.

Nantlle Vale came from behind twice to pull off a 5-4 win over Glan Conwy, thanks to doubles by Ashley Owen after 5 and 45 mintes, Kyle Hughes after 74 and 85 and Aaron Hughes on 65.

Conwy scored through Brian Roberts on 4 minutes, Charles Jones on 40 and Matthew Hughes on 89 minutes,

Trearddur Bay United had a shock 1-0 home defeat to Glantraeth, whose Andy Barker pounced to score the winning goal just before half-time.

Llanberis were 7-2 winners over Penmaenmawr Phoenix, with a hat-trick by Llion Jones, whilst Guto Llewelyn added a late double and Nidian Huws and Gwyn Jones also found the net.

The visitors netted through goals by Joel Kennelly and Alfie Caldecott.

Abergele Town were also big winners, 7-3 over Pentraeth, with Danny Abbott netting a treble, backed up by James Hay, Tomos Galvin, Jamie Jones and Tom Pamment. Pentraeth replied through Daniel Lewthwaite and Kane Roberts, who scored twice.

Mynydd Llandygai were 3-2 winners at Llandudno Junction, with goals from Alwyn Roberts, David Jones from the spot and Jamie Whitmore. The home side scored through Shaun Sheridan and Kerion Davies.

Llanllyfni let slip a two-goal lead inside 17 minutes, secured by Neil Thomas with a penalty and Rob Daniels, to succumb 4-2 at Llandudno Albion, with goals by Ricky Jones, Alan Davies, with a brace, and Tommy Talbot.

Llangefni Town clung on to Craig Evans’ 78th minute solitary goal to beat Gaerwen 1-0 at home, while Prestatyn Sports won 5-1 at Cemaes Bay, with two penalties from Paul Watson and a spot kick from Sam McDonald.

Steve Ash and Tomos Court also netted, whilst Steven Whitmore replied.

Wayne Edwards scored a hat-trick as Greenfield won 7-0 at Sychdyn, with goals from Liam Jones, Shaun Pritchard, with two, and Gareth Henley.

Machynlleth lost 6-2 to Rhayader Town after goals by Matt Lewis, Mark Davies, Dane Griffiths, Jonny Jones, Gareth Hughes and Tom Bethell, with a penalty. Harry Holt hit two replies.

Two goals from Gwydion Ifan and further goals from Sam Evans, Dan Dascalu, Rikki Rowlands and Prys Jones saw Llanuwchllyn win 6-1 against Abermule, who replied courtesy of a penalty from Dan Green.
