BARMOUTH and Dyffryn United could take a lot of positives from their 1-0 defeat against Lock Stock Welsh Alliance division one visitors Llandudno Albion.
Lee Ellis’ deflected header from a corner wrong-footed keeper Adam Walters for the only goal of the game on 52 minutes, after Barmouth had been severely tested in the first half by some intense pressure.
In the home defence, Jonno Harrison and Steve Bratt had played key roles as Barmouth managed to contain the visitors, and at the other end Paul Lewis was unfortunate not to have been given a penalty when sent sprawling in the box.
After Albion’s Ellis had made the breakthrough, Carl Ryan’s dominated the rest of the game, but clear-cut chances were scarce, even though Lewis went close with a header from a corner near the end.
Penrhyndeudraeth were beaten 3-1 in a top-five clash at Llanrug United, where the hosts’ Aaron Hughes had found the net within three minutes of the kick-off.
Meilir Williams pounced for the equaliser with a quarter-of-an-hour played, but Penrhyn fell behind again on 29 minutes, when Dylan Owen slotted a penalty.
Hughes made it 3-1 after the interval, and there was no way back for Penrhyn.
Iwan Lloyd and Matthew Jones both bagged braces as leaders Llangefni Town thrashed Llandudno Junction 8-0, with Kevin Lloyd, Jack Williams, Anthony Sinclair nd Allan Mark Owen also scoring.
Rob Daniels netted twice as second-placed Nantlle Vale drew 2-2 at home to Prestatyn Sports, with Darren Cassidy and Ron Dunn on target or the visitors.
Jamie Whitmore’s hat-trick earned Mynydd Llandygai a 4-3 win over Llandyrnog United, with Andy Barker netting the winner, after Llandyrnog goals by Joel Rowlands, Scott Leonardnd Dion Jones.
Paul Fleming scored twice as St Asaph City beat Llanberis 2-0, whilst Greenfield and Bodedern drew 1-1, after rival goals by Daniel Sim and James Burgess.
• Division Two leaders Blaenau Ffestiniog Amateurs beat Llannerchymedd 2-1 thanks to a late Kieron Ellis winner. Tom Hughes earlier put the Quarrymen ahead, before Rob Jones equalised.
Jordan Phillips scored six times in Glan Conwy’s 10-2 annihilation of Amlwch.
Jamie Jones, with a brace, Shaheen Ahmed and Ben Wright also scored, with Martin Byast and Sion Griffiths replying.
Ethan Jones, Harry Benjamin and Benn Lundstram, with a brace ensured Penmaenmawr beat Meliden 4-1, after Nathan Griffiths put the visitors into the lead.
Ryan Wood’s double led Pentraeth to a 2-1 victory against Aberffraw, with Nathan Moore replying for the visiting team.
Llannefydd ran out 3-2 winners at Pwllheli, with Tomas Jones, with a brace, and Lewys Jones netting for the visitors, and Jamie Banks and Carl Jones hitting back.
Meanwhile Y Felinheli versus Holyhead Town was abandoned after visiting player Mike Edwards suffered a bad injury.
