ABERYSTWYTH Town have bolstered their defensive options with two new signings ahead of their Dafabet Welsh Premier League match at home to Port Talbot.

Ryan Batley returns from Haverfordwest County for his third spell at Park Avenue, whilst former Cardiff City Academy player Kane Owen has signed from Afan Lido.

Portsmouth-born defender Batley was promoted to Llanelli’s first team squad from the Under-19s for season 2009/10.

He won a call-up to the Wales Under-23 semi-pros, and joined Aberystwyth for his a first spell on a short term loan.

He signed for Afan Lido in summer 2014, and after a spell out in Australia, he had a second spell at Park Avenue, before moving on to Haverfordwest.

Meanwhile Owen played his part as Cardiff City won back-to-back Development League titles in 2014 and 2015. He joined Afan Lido last summer, and made the left back position his own with some impressive displays.
