BLAENAU Ffestiniog Amateurs are setting the pace at the top of the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance division two, after back-to-back wins over Mochdre Sports on Wednesday and Meliden on Saturday.
Their midweek win had not looked likely for with just minutes left to play as they were trailing 3-2, after being 2-0 ahead in the first 20 minutes, with well-taken goals from Kieron Ellis and Tom Hughes.
They were pegged back, however, before the half-time break through Kia Parry and Harry Owen, and although the Amateurs had more of the play in the second half, many chances that went begging.
Mochdre punished them when they went ahead with another goal by Parry just after the hour mark, but still the visitors kept attacking and Iwan Jones made it 3-3 with a fine drive on 87 minutes, giving home keeper Dan Leater no chance.
Then, in the 89th minute, Keiron Ellis dramatically blasted home the winner.
On Saturday, Blaenau took on a under-strength Meliden side at Cae Clyd and dominated proceedings from the start, with Bryn Humphreys coming close to open the scoring in the opening minutes.
They had to wait until the 22th minute to make the breakthrough when a fine run by Kieron Ellis ended with him laying the ball for Tom Hughes to open the scoring.
Visiting keeper Danny Jones made some fine saves, but Iwan Griffiths headed the home side further ahead from a corner.
Sion Roberts completed a fine move a minute into the second half, and then on 53 minutes Bryn Humphreys made it 4-0 and sub Rhodri Pugh completed the scoring with a fine header on 73 minutes.
Elsewhere second half goals from Rob Jones and Tudur Williams around the hour earned Llannerchymedd a 2-0 win over Kinmel Bay, whilst Jordan Phillips earned Glan Conwy a 1-1 draw with Y Felinheli, who netted through Rhys Parry.
In midweek, goals either side of the interval from Gareth Jones Evans and Carl Jones had earned Pwllheli a 2-2 draw away at Felinheli, who scored in each half through Connor Japheth and Iwan Owen.
Two goals from Lewis Jones and an own goal meant that Llannefydd beat Kinmel Bay 3-1, with Barry Roach replying, whilst a Josh Owen penalty and Ryan Evans Wood secured Pentraeth a 2-1 win over Holyhead. Asa Thomas replied.
Connor Davies and Daniel Landers both scored twice as Glan Conwy won 5-0 at Meliden, along with a goal from Jordan Phillips, whilst goals from Richard Jones, Mark Jones and Dion Evans earned Llannerchymedd a 3-0 win at Amlwch Town.
Gaerwen drew 1-1 at home to Aberffraw after goals from Darren Lewthwaite for the hosts and Steve Jones for the visitors.
