Pwllheli claimed local bragging rights as they reduced the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance division two leaders Blaenau Ffestiniog Amateurs to second best with a 3-1 win at the Recreation Ground.

Ben Ogilvey’s side have now gone 12 matches since late November for only one defeat, with seven wins, and they have taken four points from six against Blaenau.

An absorbing first half saw regular raids from both sets of forwards, and on 27 minutes Pwllheli’s Jamie Banks made the breakthrough.

Their lead was doubled by the same player just four minutes into the second period, and then Mark Jones added the home team’s conclusive third goal after 73.

It was scant consolation when, barely a couple of minutes from the final whistle, Bryn Humphries squeezed in Blaenau’s solitary reply goal.

Glan Conwy took their chance to go top of the division two table on goal difference as they notched an 5-1 away win at Kinmel Bay.

Conor Davies opened the scoring with a bullet header and then Morgan Owen doubled their advantage with a sensational individual effort.

Merrick Knight made it 3-0 with a tremendous strike, but Andy Thomas’ men got their reward when Jordan Worthington scored a free-kick.

Jordan Phillips notched a long-range free-kick of his own to make it 4-1, and the same player completed his brace to seal a solid victory.

Griff John scored a hat-trick, including a penalty, as Y Felinheli closed the gap on a top six spot with a comfortable 5-1 home victory over struggling Mochdre Sports.

Iwan Owen also despatching a brace to complete the rout, whilst Dean Satchel replied for the visiting team.

Goals from Dylan Williams and Andrew Wannup meanwhile earned Gaerwen a 2-2 draw with Llannefydd, who had hit back twice through Sam Jones and Ed Jones.

A brace apiece from Danny Connolly and Marquis Holland did the majority of the damage as Pentraeth ran riot at Holyhead Town to seal a 6-2 triumph on their travels.

Jack Walsh and Owen Roberts were also on target for the away side, whilst Asa Thomas scored a goal in each half for the Harbourmen.

Mike Lumstram scored twice as basement side Amlwch were beaten 5-1 at Penmaenmawr. Alfie Caldecott and Ethan Jones also netted, along with an own goal, whilst Martin Byast replied.

• Porthmadog Reserves are still unbeaten in the Welsh Alliance Reserves Division after beating Nantlle Vale 7-2, with a hat-trick from Sion Parry, including two penalties, and singles from Aled Williams, Rhys Hughes, Jack Davies and Cai Henshaw. Vale replied through Connor Bearman and William Jones.

Pwllheli Reserves lost 3-1 at Llandyrnog, where goals from Jamie Jones, Sam Davies and Ross Gilbert secured the points. Cai Huws replied.
