BONT have made a flying start to their new campaign in the Cambrian Tyres Aberystwyth and District League after they breezed to an emphatic 9-1 win over Borth Reserves last Wednesday evening.
There were two goals each from Dewi Sion Evans and debutant Fergus Morris, whilst Ben Lewis, Dion Davies, Lee Jones, Llion Jones and Sion Jones also netted.Matthew Holmes scored for Borth’s reply.
Bont then notched their second win in a week with a 6-1 rout of Bow Street Reserves last weekend, with two goals by Andrew Carree and singles by Dion Davies, Sion Jones, Dewi Sion Evans and William Davey. Justin Quin scored for Bow Street Reserves.
In midweek, Bow Street Reserves had made an encouraging start to their season when they registered a 6-3 win over Aberdyfi, courtesy of goals from Ian ‘Baba’ Evans, Nat Burrell, Justin Quin, Matt Williams, Osian Burrell and an own goal.
Talybont meanwhile drew 1-1 with Padarn United last Wednesday evening, with Dylan Hughes’ strike being cancelled out by Matthew Parry.
Padarn followed that up with a 3-2 win at Machynlleth Reserves last weekend, where they had taken a two-goal lead through goals by Matthew Parry and Steve Jones, before Mach fought back to 2-2.
With a minute to go, Chris Foster was clearly fouled in the penalty box, and the resulting spot kick was confidently dispatched by Paul Vaughan.
Machynlleth Reserves had made a winning start last Wednesday as goals from Callum Page, Jacob Hudson and Jake Hinge earned them a 3-2 win over Llanilar, who stayed in touch with a Clive Morgan penalty and a Dewi Evans effort.
Two goals by Jamie Barron earned Talybont a 2-1 win over Penrhyncoch Reserves last weekend, with Ben Dimmack scoring for the Roosters, and Tregaron lost 7-3 at Aberdyfi, despite reply goals from Rhun Garner, Llyr Davies and Martin Rees.
