THREE second half goals in the space of 15 minutes saw Welsh Alliance leaders Conwy Borough win the FAW Trophy Final 4-1 against Rhos Aelwyd at Airbus UK's Hollingsworth Group Stadium.

Boro came from behind to secure their second title in the competition, some 36 years after their first triumph in 1982."It was a great occasion, and one thankfully the lads responded to and brought the cup back," said manager Gareth 'Perry' Thomas."On behalf of the coaching staff and squad I'd like to thank the committee in allowing us to prepare properly prior to the game, and also to the fans who travelled to support the lads."He added: "In the first half we where sloppy with our general play and passing, that said I think we all didn’t realise the strength of the wind."In the second half we shortened our game, and the movement was excellent. Credit to Rhos Aelwyd as they gave us no time on the ball in the early stages of the games but our performance after half time was superb and one I'm proud of for the squad."We will switch our attention to the Cookson Cup Final on Wednesday, but for tonight we can enjoy the win and celebrate winning some silverware for the club."Rhos opened the scoring on 33 minutes when James Haynes cut inside and fired home from a tight angle, but Boro were level before the break when Leigh Craven capped off a good team move with a one-two before slotting home.

Brendan Hogan put Boro in front after the break when his cross was misjudged by keeper Steffan Parry, and Corrig McGonigle then made it 3-1. Boro then sealed the win when a great bit of skill from Tommy Creamer saw him weave past two defenders to score.
