BORTH United climbed to the top of the Spar Mid Wales League division two with a superb 4-0 win over previous leaders Builth Wells at Uppingham Fields.
The high-flying Crows are level on points with joint leaders Kerry at the top, and they still have two games in hand.
Ben Jones’ superb strike from 25 yards opened the scoring on 10 minutes, and further pressure saw Ryan Davies provide a pin-point cross from the right for Liam Lewis to double Borth’s lead.
A lobbed effort from Lewis also just missed the post in a dominant first half, and Borth extended their lead after the interval when Ryan Davies’ long range strike hit the crossbar and Gareth Kelsall-Hughes volleyed the ball home.
In the closing minutes substitute Mike Straw was upended in the penalty area and Ryan Davies scored the spot kick to give Borth their first-ever league win against their opponents.

A header in each half by Alistair Palmer, both from corners, sealed the win, with Banw having levelled before the break via Geraint Roberts.
