BORTH United returned to the top of the Spar Mid Wales League division two with a 4-1 win over Penybont - with Player of the Month Ryan Davies scoring twice.
Liam Lewis and Liam Berner also netted for the Crows, who moved three points clear of title rivals Kerry in the table.
The hosts made a great start when a long ball from defence found Liam Lewis and he kept composure to beat the Penybont keeper with a cool finish at the far post.
Penybont had their chances to equalise, but just before the interval a lapse in their defence allowed the ever-alert Ryan Davies to run through and slide the ball home.
The visitors, however, soon replied as Jake Bufton rose above the home defence and headed beyond keeper Sean Gates from a corner to make it 2-1 at the break.
The goal seemed to galvanize the visitors, and Borth’s defence had to be alert as Penybont threatened with good openings.
Fifteen minutes into the second half, however, Ryan Davies weaved his way into the danger area and slid the ball passed the keeper for a 3-1 advantage.
Penybont still kept coming back, and they saw a superb volley from point-blank range brilliantly turned away by Gates - but as the match reached its conclusion Liam Berner scored with a low strike into the bottom corner to seal the win.
• Aberystwyth University meanwhile maintained their upturn in fortunes in the Spar Mid Wales division two with a dominant 3-0 victory at home to Presteigne.
Although they remain third bottom in the table following their third win of the campaign, the students are now breathing down the necks of a number of sides above them, and with games in hand.
Top scorer Shaun Roberts gave them a 20th minute lead, after latching onto a pass from Ali Palmer to slot home, and five minutes later, the impressive Palmer left the Presteigne defence in his wake before firing home, to double their lead.
After the interval, the students had three efforts cleared off the line, and Liam Powell also had goal disallowed, before heading in a third a goal in the 70th minute.
Elsewhere Aeron Powell and Ollie Woods scored hat-tricks as Newbridge beat Llansanffraid 6-2, with Ed Williams and Nathan Prodger replying, and Builth Wells drew 1-1 away at Four Crosses.
