BORTH United avenged their defeat at Penybont the previous week with a welcome 4-3 win in the Spar Mid Wales League division two at Uppingham Field.
Playing in their first home league match since the end of January, it took them only four minutes to take the lead, with a Ben Jones special from outside the box.
Ten minutes later they doubled their lead when, from a quickly taken corner by Ben Jones, Jamie Walker curled home a superb shot into the bottom corner.
Penybont replied when a throughball evaded the defence and Darren Murphy slid the ball passed keeper Justin Davies - but with half time imminent Borth restored their two goal lead with Niall Coleridge scoring a fine individual goal.
A fine start to the second half by the visitors saw Geraint Mathias score from close in, and although Borth had a few good half chances to extend their lead, the visitors seemed to gather momentum and Gavin Johnson volleyed an equaliser.
Both teams went in search on a winner, but in the last five minutes Penybont conceded a penalty, and Ben Jones converted from the spot for a hard earned victory.
