BEN Jones netted an extra-time winner to secure Bow Street’s place in the draw for the third round of the Central Wales Senior Challenge Cup with a 3-2 win over MMP Mid Wales League rivals Llansantffraid at Park Avenue.
It was all square after 90 minutes, with Jones on target for the Magpies and Nathan Prodger for the Saints, but the tie really came to life in the extra half an hour.
Bailee Austin put the Saints 2-1 ahead, but the Magpies showed great resolve to equalise through Dylan James, who then supplied the cross for Jones to complete his brace and send Bow Street through.
Aberaeron bowed out with a 4-1 defeat at home to Llanfair United, after goals from Josh Astley, Toby Evans and a 40 yard strike by Karl Seliaerts had put the visitors 3-0 up at the half-time interval.
Alun Hughes made it 4-0 in the second half, but Sam Middleton pulled a goal back for Aberaeron with a great volley, before Richard Astley was sent off after getting a second yellow card for Llanfair.
Andy Evans scored five goals as Carno proved far too strong for Cambrian Tyres Aberystwyth League side Padarn United in an emphatic 13-0 win over the visitors.

Ffostrasol exited the competition with a 3-0 defeat away against Hay St Mary’s, where striker Matty Tong had opened the scoring with a strike from the edge of the area, before winger Adi Lawford added a second midway through the first half.
The second half saw the home team pile on the pressure, and their top scorer Jack Biggs fired a penalty over the bar, before Lawford finally wrapped things up late on with a tap in from a Jack Evans cross.
Cambrian Tyres League side Llanilar also bowed out with a 4-0 defeat at Welshpool, who eased through with goals from Ed Baker, Will Thomas, Ian Probert and a fine free kick from debutant Jack Harris.
Costcutter Ceredigion League division one side Llandysul were beaten 5-0 at Kerry, after going down to 10 men. A brace apiece for Max McLaughlin and Luke Mumford and a Ben Hendleman goal sealed victory for the Mid Wales outfit.
Nick Williams fired a hat-trick as Tywyn/Bryncrug marched on into the next round with a solid 4-0 home win over Montgomeryshire Amateur League side Trewern, with Aled Jones also on target.
Caersws avoided a potential cup shock when they edged through to the last 16 of the competition with 2-1 against Montgomeryshire League club Forden United.
