BOW STREET Reserves produced a stunning home performance to smash second-placed Aberdyfi 8-1 and lift themselves up to fourth place in the Cambrian Tyres Aberystwyth and District League division one.

Huw Bates led the way with a hat-trick for the Magpies, with further goals by Dion Kohler, with a brace, Danny Whiteaway, Gerwyn Loosley and Marc Loosley completing a one-sided win, as Aberdyfi crashed to their third straight defeat.

Elsewhere in division one, a Rhun Garner goal was not enough for Tregaron Turfs as they slipped to a 2-1 defeat to Penparcau, with Jake Bush and an Andrew Gilbert penalty securing the three points.

Llanilar meanwhile battled to a hard-earned 0-0 draw away against Padarn United.

An extra time winner from Henry Nicholson sent Aberystwyth University Seconds through in the Len and Julia Newman Trophy with a 2-1 win at Machynlleth Reserves, after Charlie Misell had scored in normal time.

Liam Lewis led the way with four goals as Llanrhystud hammered Padarn Reserves 9-3 in the Second Division Trophy, with further goals from Ben Lewis, Gareth Lewis, David Jones and Lee Jones with a brace. Padarn replied through an own goal, and efforts by Ben Robbins and Paul Vaughan.

Aberystwyth University Thirds strolled to another Second Division Trophy win as they beat Dolgellau Reserves 4-2 at Blaendolau.

Scott Rees, who took the captain’s arm-band, opened the scoring with a penalty, before further goals came from Andy Whatty, Michael Gardner and Levi Challoner. Tommy Redgrift and Jasper Jones netted the replies.

Also in the Second Division Trophy, Talybont Reserves triumphed 3-0 away against Aberdyfi Reserves, courtesy of a brace from Chris Wylde and an effort from Ben Hall.

Llanilar Reserves had a welcome 5-1 win at home to Llanon as Jac Lawton and Rhydian Ap Owen both scored twice, with Tomos Constantine also netting.
