BOW STREET signed off their MMP Mid Wales League campaign with an emphatic 7-2 win over Radnor Valley to finish in 11th place in the division one standings.
Tom Williams led the way with four goals, and Josh Crowl, Richy Ricketts and Owen Roberts-Young netted as the Magpies finished the season in style. Callum Matthews and Elliott Williams replied.
Borth United, who complete their division two campaign with a match at Aberystwyth University on Tuesday, notched an excellent 4-1 win over third-placed Hay St Mary’s.
Ryan Davies netted twice for Borth, with Dion Ellis Clarke also on the scoresheet, along with an own goal, all after Jack Biggs had given the Saints an early lead.
Aberystwyth University stay rooted to the bottom of division two after going down 3-1 away at Abermule in midweek. Nathan Ash had netted for the battling students, but goals from Jack Weaver, Charlie Kinsey and Jack Carroll secured the points for seventh-placed Mule.
Four Crosses meanwhile clinched promotion into division one with a 2-0 win at Rhayader Town on Tuesday evening. Goals by Gaz Jones and Jay Thomas earned Crosses the spoils, to finish as runners-up to Montgomery this season.
Builth Wells finished their division one campaign with a 3-0 win over Carno as goals by Josh Price, Jack Hammond and Rich Powell sealed their top six finish.
• THREE clubs will have applications to join the MMP Mid Wales League this summer considered at the end of season Annual General Meeting.
Cambrian Tyres Aberystwyth League One champions Penparcau, JT Hughes Montgomeryshire League runners-up Forden United and Watson Financial Mid Wales League South side Knighton Town have applied to step up to division two.
With no club relegated from the HG Cymru Alliance, and Llanfair United being promoted, two clubs are set to step up into the Mid Wales division one, with second division champions Montgomery joined by runners-up Four Crosses.
With the first division running with 15 clubs last season, it either hands a possible reprieve from relegation to bottom of the table Churchstoke - or third-placed Hay St Marys may be invited to step up from the second division in their place.
With the second division running three clubs below its maximum quota last season it is expected the league will rule against relegation, while accepting the applications of the three aspiring clubs.
