ON a bitterly cold Friday evening Borth had welcomed Carno to Aberystwyth’s Park Avenue’s 3G pitch, and the visitors took their chance to move second in the table with a solid 6-2 win.
Borth found themselves trailing after five minutes when Peter Rees provided the assist for Ioan Humphreys to open Carno’s account with a cool finish.
It got worse for Borth four minutes later as Andrew Evans provided the chance for Jac Petrie to double the visitors’ lead with a powerful header.
Borth responded when Ryan Davies scored with a smart finish, after Carno had failed to clear, but the visitors restored their two goal lead when Jordan Jones scored from the penalty spot.
Further goals from Peter Rees, following a Ioan Humphreys assist, and Jac Petrie, after good work by Jordan Jones, were just reward for a slick first half display, but Ryan Edwards scored a worldie from fully 30 yards to give Borth some hope for the second half.
The visitors, however, sealed their win soon after the interval when Peter Rees provided the chance for Jordan Jones to score a sixth goal - and despite an improved second half from Borth, who created several chances, Carno were good value for the three points.
