LLANIDLOES Town moved nine points clear at the top of the MMP Mid Wales League division one with a 2-1 win over derby rivals Caersws at Victoria Avenue.
Two second half penalties from Connor Bird ensured that the Daffs maintained their unbeaten league record, after Elliot Jones had put the Bluebirds ahead in first half stoppage time.
Builth Wells moved up to second place as first half goals from Jack Hammond, Greg Preece, Rich Powell and Sean Powell set them up for a 4-2 win away at Carno.
Andy Evans and Richie Evans halved the deficit in the second half, but the visitors held firm for their sixth league win.
Keiran McCarlet meanwhile netted a late equaliser as Llandrindod Wells secured a 1-1 draw with Berriew, who had opened the scoring early through Jonathan Jones.
Welshpool lost ground as they slipped to a shock 6-0 win at home to Montgomery Town, who took the spoils through Glynn Coney, with a brace, Darryl Jones, Tom Evans, Scott Williams and an own goal.
Bow Street are up to fifth place after they notched a 2-1 win on the road at Radnor Valley, with goals from Guto Roberts and Garmon Nutting securing the points, whilst Adi Lawford netted for the hosts.
Aberaeron meanwhile extended their unbeaten run to four matches as two goals from man of the match Ianto ap Dafydd earned them a 2-0 win over Llansantffraid.
Two goals from Luke Mumford sealed a solid 3-0 home win for Kerry against Tywyn/Bryncrug, after Ryan Groves had opened the scoring for the hosts early on.
Newbridge-on-Wye moved three points clear of Penparcau at the top of division two as they made it six runs on the bounce with an emphatic 7-1 win over Presteigne.
Sion Herman and Ollie Woods both scored twice, with Aeron Powell, Lyndon Jones and Kejan Froyzewski also netting. Duanne Anning netted Presteigne’s consolation.
Rhayader Town are up to third place in the division two table after they notched a solid 3-0 win on the road at Abermule, with goals by Jamie Evans, Jack Bright and Tom Rowlands securing the points.
Aberystwyth University shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw with Churchstoke, after twice taking the lead through an own goal and Daniel Swift. The visitors hit back through Sean Wright and Greg Pryce, and Alex Haycock saved a penalty.
In midweek, Aberystwyth University were also pegged back in a 3-3 draw at Rhayader, with Jamie Stuart and a double from Daniel Swift putting the students 3-1 up, but Jamie Evans, Tommy Rowlands and Tony Davies earned the home point.
Twm Foulkes scored twice as Dyffryn Banw beat Knighton Town 3-0, with Llyr Thomas also on target, whilst Dolgellau’s match against Waterloo Rovers and Penparcau’s match at Forden were postponed.
Meanwhile an FAW Commission found Knighton guilty of playing an ineligible player against Churchstoke earlier in the season, and they were fined £100 and had three points deducted from their record.
• Llanidloes Town boss Hugh Clarke has been awarded the MMP Mid Wales League Division One Manager of the Month award for August and September, with Andrew Evans of Carno picking up the Division One Player of the Month.
The Division Two Manager of the Month award went to Andy Evans of Penparcau, with Jac Petrie of Machynlleth awarded the Division Two Player of the Month.
