HIGH-FLYING Bow Street notched their first win in Tywyn for five seasons as a well-taken hat-trick by Dean Evans sealed a solid 4-2 away win.
The Magpies, who are fourth in the table, will travel to league leaders Berriew in good heart on Saturday.
Bow Street were two-nil up at half time, with Evans opening the scoring with a glancing header, before doubling the lead with an emphatic finish following superb work down the left by impressive youngster Tom Evans.
Two more goals followed after the break, with Evans’ completing his treble, before a superb left foot finish by Tom Williams extended their lead.
There was some concern towards the end as the home side pulled back two consolation goals in the last five minutes through Mark Edmondson and Aled Jones, but the Magpies held on for another impressive win.
“I have been in Tywyn on so many occasions over the last 10 years where we have come unstuck against them,” said Bow Street chairman Wyn Lewis.
“It is great to win here for the first time in five years. I’m delighted for the management team and the players. It was an impressive and efficient performance by our young team.”
Carno are third in the division one table after a Peter Rees goal on the stroke of half proved to be enough to beat Machynlleth 1-0 at Ty Brith.
Mach, with Sion Williams to the fore, had several chances as Ger Jones cleared one off the line, and the visitors also hit the bar from long range.
Gregg Brown hit the post for Carno after getting on the end of a Jordan Jones cross, and Peter Rees, Richie Evans and Ashley Owen all had half chances as the home side stepped up.
Their dominance paid off on the stroke of half time when Ioan Humphreys flicked on a Kris Williams goal kick to Richie Evans, who slipped in Peter Rees to fire the ball into the net with his left foot from 18 yards out.
The second half saw few clear cut chances at either end, with Ger Jones once again clearing off the line from a corner, and Kris Williams made a fine stop with his feet as the Greens kept their fourth clean sheet in a row.
Berriew climbed to the top of the table as they breezed to a 7-1 win at Welshpool Town on Friday night.
Richard Davies led the way with a a hat-trick on a very pleasing night for Berriew and their manager Dave Jones, the former Welshpool boss.
Chris Carroll, Rob Pritchard, Steve Roberts and a James Watkins own goal completed Berriew’s scoring, with Will Pritchard netting for Pool.
Rhayader Town slipped to their first league defeat of the season as Llanrhaeadr hit back to claim a 2-1 win, with goals from Iain Edmunds and Endaf Owens, after Richie Powell had scored first for the Red Kites.
Aberaeron are fifth after goals from Matty Davies, Jamie Butler, Thomas Jones and Sion Clarke earned them a 4-0 win over Montgomery Town.
Brendan Hackett and Steve Morgan earned Hay St Mary’s a 2-2 draw at Radnor Valley, who scored through Callum Matthews and Joey Price.
