ABERYSTWYTH Town have announced the signings of defenders Alan Goodall and Tom Evans ahead of the start of the JD Welsh Premier League season at home to Llandudno on Friday evening.
Goodall can play in a central defensive or left back role, and brings a wealth of football league experience to Town’s youthful-looking side.
He began his footballing journey at Bangor City back in 2001, playing a total of 91 games - and scoring 10 goals - and making the Welsh Premier League Team of the Season back in 2004.
Since then, he’s made over 300 appearances in the Football League with Rochdale, Stockport County, Chesterfield, Luton Town, Grimsby Town and most recently Morecambe - scoring 20 goals in the process.
He spent the 2016/17 season at Altrincham of the National League North, and will be a valuable addition to Aber’s squad for the forthcoming season.
Local youngster Tom Evans is an attacking full back who can play on the left or right side - as demonstrated in Aber’s most recent friendly against Neston Nomads.
Tom played a significant part in Bari Morgan’s u19’s Welsh Premier Development League winning squad last season, creating a number of goal scoring opportunities from the right back position.
He’s spent time playing for Bow Street in recent seasons, but has now committed to the Black and Greens.Last week, Aberystwyth Town announced the signing of attacking midfielder Ryan Edwards. Edwards joined the club after leaving Llandudno in June, having previously played in the Welsh Premier League for The New Saints, Connah's Quay Nomads, Cefn Druids, Bala Town and Airbus UK Broughton.
