BONT continued their fine start to the season as they registered an emphatic 6-1 win over Talybont, to make it two wins from two in the Cambrian Tyres Aberystwyth and District League.
Liam Lewis and Dion Davies scored twice, with Fergus Morris and Garin Jenkins also netting in an emphatic win for last season’s runners-up.
The hosts had started well at Blaendolau and 10 minutes in they took the lead, when a long ball over the top caught the defence out for Jamie Baron to lift the ball over Trevor Jenkins.
Bont, however, started to get a foot in the game and were rewarded when a through ball from Lee Jones saw 16 year-old Garin Evans run 30 yards with the ball and tuck it under the Talybont keeper, on his first competitive appearance for his village club.
It was soon 2-1 as Liam Lewis grabbed his first goal of the afternoon after leaping higher than all of the defence to head in a Lee Jones cross.
Bont were pushing the whole time and Chris Wilkins made a fantastic run across the pitch, only to be fouled as he entered the box, and Liam Lewis calmly slotted his second goal to make the score 3-1 to the visitors at half time.
The second half started much the same, with Talybont only really catching the defence out with long balls.
After 15 minutes of the second half, Bont made two changes in bringing on Fergus Morris and Dion Davies, and Morris quickly showed incredible close control to skip away from two defenders and slotted the ball home.
Dion Davies then made it 5-1 when heading home a Chris Wilkins cross, and he soon doubled his tally when Cian Thomas made a great run and found Davies unmarked to slot home.
Talybont, to their credit, pushed all the way, forcing a succession of corners, but Trevor Jenkins and the Bont defence held firm for a solid win.
Penparcau continued their great start to the season as they built on their opening win with a 9-1 demolition of Machynlleth Reserves, despite playing 70 minutes with just 10 men.
Jake Bush was sent off on 20 minutes, with Arky already 2-0 up through Liam Jaques and Andrew Gittins, who both went on to score hat-tricks.
Ben Davies weighed in with a brace and Lee Morgan also scored a wonder strike as Penparcau took full control.
Llanilar also maintained their winning start to the new campaign with a 6-2 win over Penrhyncoch Reserves, with Ryan Edwards and Guto Roberts both scoring twice. Sion Evans and Shon Morgans were also on target.
Paul Keegan and Ben Dimmack scored for Penrhyn, but they slipped to their second defeat in a week.
Tregaron bounced back from their midweek defeat to beat battling Padarn United 4-1, with two goals each from Llyr Davies and Rhun Garner, whilst Steve Jones netted for Padarn.
Bow Street Reserves also remain pointless after a 3-2 defeat at Tywyn/Bryncrug Reserves, as goals from Iwan Jones, Luke Rickard and Ben Holt secured the points. Shaun Jones netted twice for the defending champions.
