TREGARON Turfs made it 13 wins out of 13 in all competitions - but they had to fight tooth and nail to make it through to the quarter-finals of Dai ‘Dynamo’ Davies Memorial Cup with a 3-1 win over a tenacious Crymych side.

Tregaron’s superior fitness told in the end on a very heavy pitch, after the spirited Costcutter Ceredigion League division two side had taken a 1-0 lead at the half-time interval through Ifan Davies' goal.

The Turfs levelled matters when a corner was headed in by Deian Williams, and they took the lead 10 minutes later when substitute Carwyn Eary beat the offside trap and slotted the ball home.

Tregaron finally secured a place in the last eight with 10 minutes to go, as youngster Daniel Owen broke down the left and crossed for William Williams to convert.

Penparcau Reserves made progress in the Len and Julia Newman Memorial Trophy as they notched a 2-0 away win at Bow Street Reserves. Jake Bush and Chris Wylde scored the goals to send Arky through.

In the Cambrian Tyres Aberystwyth and District League division one, Aberdyfi recorded a great win on the road, with an action-packed 5-4 victory at Bont.

After being 3-1 down at the break, Dyfi hit back to take the points with doubles from both Ben Richards, and Luke Rickard, and a single effort from Tomos Jones.

Daniel Owen, Charlie Parr and Trevor Jenkins, with a brace, netted for the hosts.

Jamie Barron scored twice for Talybont as they notched a 4-2 win over Penrhyncoch, with Robbie Southgate and Steve Bez also on target. Tom Spruce and Owen Keyworth got goals for the Roosters.

Llanilar were solid 3-0 winners away against Aberystwyth University Reserves, with their goals being scored by Sion Evans, Sion Edwards and Ioan Jones.

In division two, David Jones fired a hat-trick as Corris United notched a convincing 6-0 win over Padarn Reserves, with Owain Kelly, Osian Wells and an own goal completing the home tally.

Duncan Mason and Luke Brisco both scored twice as Aberystwyth University Reserves beat Borth Reserves 4-3, whilst Llanilar Reserves match against Dolgellau Reserves was postponed.

• Padarn United meanwhile bowed out of the Emrys Morgan Cup as a hat-trick from Liam Doherty and a Dylan Davies goal earned visitors Cardigan a 4-1 win.
