MANAGER Gari Lewis has spoken of his pride after holders Penrhyncoch wrapped up their campaign in fine style by retaining the Spar Mid Wales League Cup to complete a memorable double.
Having defeated Hay st Mary's to seal the Spar Mid Wales League division one crown a few weeks back, the Roosters again got the better of their rivals to prevail 4-2 in the League Cup final at Llanidloes’ Victoria Avenue on Saturday.
Josh Shaw scored the first early on, and also had a couple of assists, while Mark Gornall, captain Owain James and Jonathan Evans were also on the mark.
A spirited Hay stayed in the hunt with two terrific strikes from Rob Snedden, but Penrhyn were not to be denied a successful defence of the silverware that they had won 12 months ago.
Victory capped a marvellous season for Penrhyn who can now step up to the Huws Cymru Alliance next season in the best possible fashion.
