LLANIDLOES Town face an early test to their credentials in the MMP Mid Wales League division one when they take on Radnor Valley at Victoria Avenue tonight (Wednesday, ko 7.30pm).
Both sides have won their first five outings to share pole position along with Caersws, so something has to give this evening.
"It’s still early days, but it’s going to be our biggest test so far this season," admitted Daffs manager Hugh Clarke. "But we can go into the game with confidence, both going forward and defensively.
"We’ve got a few players out, but hopefully we’ve got a good enough squad to cope."
Drew Reynolds faces a fitness check on a knee injury picked up in the 3-1 win over Aberaeron, while fellow defender Jordan Jones is out with a knee ligaments injury.
Harri Clarke is still a long term absentee with a shoulder injury, while Matthew Savage and Gregg Brown are unavailable.
Llanidloes maintained their unblemished start as two second half goals goals from George Clarke help set up a 3-1 home victory over Aberaeron.
Peter Rees put the Daffs on course with a 14th minute opener when firing in the rebound after a shot from Connor Bird had come back of the post.
Steffan Gittins levelled when a free kick was tipped onto the bar by Aaron Warrick, before bouncing into the net off the keeper, but Clarke then struck twice in the second half to wrap up the points.
His first came when chipping in following a good move involving Ed Clarke and Ash Owen, before rifling his second after cutting in from the right.
The Daffs had plenty of chances, and struck the woodwork no fewer than four times.
After hosting Radnor Valley in a rearranged game tonight, Llani have a free weekend.
A few days before, they maintained their 100 per cent record with a 2-1 victory at Carno.
Connor Bird continued his rich vein of form with a brace to take his tally to seven goals this term, before Andy Evans pulled one back for the hosts late on when capitalising on a defensive slip.
Llanidloes, meanwhile, have been drawn at home to Waterloo Rovers in the second round of the FAW Trophy, with the tie to be played on Saturday, September 15.
