BALA Town built on their impressive performance at Gresford Athletic with another fine display as they put five goals past Caernarfon Town on Saturday.

Both David Thompson and Mike Hayes bagged braces while Stuart Jones added the fifth for a rampant Lakesiders side.

Bala got off to the perfect start as Thompson caught the Caernarfon defence napping to latch on to a through ball and finish calmly past Carl Jones after just three minutes.

Before Caernarfon could re-group, Bala’s lead was doubled.

Waltzing through Cymru Alliance side’s defence, Thompson was allowed far too much space before lobbing the goalkeeper from 20 yards out.

The hosts looked for a foothold and applied a brief spell of pressure with Toby Jones threatening while Nathan Craig curled a free-kick over the bar from 25 yards out and Danny Brookwell headed wide after a break down the left.

Bala were soon on top though, with a Lakesiders trialist somehow failing to convert a free header when it was easier to score.
