LLANILAR returned from Aberdyfi with the three points after easing to a solid 5-1 win in the Cambrian Tyres Aberystwyth District League division one.

Two goals from Guto Roberts, and singles from Sion Evans, Sion Edwards and Daniel John took the visitors to within a point of frontrunners Tregaron Turfs, but having now played two games more.

Tim Holt was on the scoresheet for Aberdyfi, who battled right to the end, but the hosts missed their chance to lift themselves into a top five league position.

Penrhyncoch Reserves shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw with Aberystwyth University Thirds, with an Owen Keyworth penalty ensuring the Roosters remain undefeated at Cae Baker this season, whilst James Hartley netted for the students.

Llanilar Reserves drew 2-2 at home with Padarn United Reserves in division two, courtesy of their goals from Dylan Evans and Steffan Huxtable, whilst James Graham netted twice for the battling visitors.

Owain Kelly scored four times as free-scoring Corris United stormed to 9-3 home win over Aberystwyth University Thirds in the Second Division Trophy.

Kieran Jones and Jack Owen both scored twice, and Ryan Jones was also on the scoresheet for the Quarrymen, with the students replying through Duncan Mason, with a brace, and Gytis Pivnickas.

Dolgellau Reserves held their nerve to knock Bont out of the Cambrian Tyres League Cup on penalties after a 2-2 draw. Darryn Jones and Tom Carr netted for Dolgellau, and Oliver Langford and Owen Evans for Bont, before the visitors won through 4-3 in the spot-kick decider.

Tregaron’s League Cup match against Penparcau Reserves was called off due to a waterlogged pitch, whilst the second round tie between Bow Street Reserves and Talybont takes place this weekend.

Tregaron turn attention to the Newman Memorial Trophy this weekend at home to Padarn United, whilst Aberystwyth University Reserves host Bont in division one, and Padarn Reserves host University Thirds in the Second Division Trophy.
