HALF TIME

It’s honours even at half time at Jenner Park with both sides coping well with extremely windy conditions.

Aberystwyth had Matty Jones missing out due to suspension and replaced by Rhys Davies, Owain Jones replacing the absent Jon Owen, and Harri Horwood making his first matchday squad since his January move,

The Seasiders, full of confidence after the stoppage time midweek victory against Haverfordwest County, started brightly without creating any clear openings.

The hosts, in fifth place at the start of play, had a goal ruled out for offside on the quarter hour, before Jack Rimmer, at the other end saw his free-kick well claimed by former Aber keeper Mike Lewis.

Young Aber defender Louis Bradford did well to see the ball out for a goal kick under pressure from Nathaniel Jarvis on 24 minutes before the home side threatened with a couple of corners which Connor Roberts did well to claim and clear.

And as the half drew to a close, Jamie Veale went close with a free kick before Marc Williams played a decent ball over the top to Harry Franklin, which Mike Lewis did well to gather.
