Manager Gari Lewis admits it’s all or nothing as Penrhyncoch resume their fight for Huws Gray Cymru Alliance survival in Saturday’s testing trip to Ruthin Town.

The Roosters have been sidelined for the last two weeks after Saturday’s deluge meant their home clash with Conwy Borough was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at Cae Baker.

With six games remaining, they continue to languish third-from-bottom in the table, and seven points adrift of safety with a game in hand.

They were handed a timely boost, with the side lying directly above, Denbigh Town, going down 3-2 at home to high-flying Airbus UK Broughton in one of only two league games to beat last weekend’s stormy weather.

The two-week break has at least allowed Penrhyn a chance to take stock, and for those carrying injuries more time to recover, including striker Carl Lamb who was out with a dislocated elbow.

“Hopefully we can have most players available for what is going to be a big ask at Ruthin,” said Lewis.

“They are a great little club, they are a tough and tight outfit that is full of local lads.

“They had a good 1-1 draw at Gresford last Saturday, and they are seventh in the table, but we have to go there and find a way to win it.

“On our day we can beat anybody in the league, and if we had a bit more luck this season, then we would not have been in this situation.

“We can’t dwell on what ifs, we are in a relegation scrap, and it’s now all or nothing. We’ve got six games left, and we’ve got to try and win every one to give us a chance.

“We wanted to play last Saturday, at 9am the pitch was fine, but once the rain came in, it was holding water.”

Last weekend’s postponement means that Penrhyn now have two games to rearrange - against Conwy Borough and Bangor City whose Nantporth ground was left waterlogged the week before.

The Roosters, who have picked up five points from their last five outings, last played back on 2 March, when downed 2-0 by champions elect Airbus Broughton.

The Wingmakers increased their lead at the top of the table to 12 points with an odd goal in five win against Denbigh Town last weekend.

Denbigh took an early lead through a Kristian Pierce penalty, but by half time Asa Hamilton and Nathan Woolfe put Airbus ahead.

Hamilton added a third for the Airmen nine minutes into the second half, with Pierce netting his second for Denbigh 12 minutes from time.

Gresford Athletic and Ruthin Town fought out a goalless draw at Clapper Lane in the only other game.

Gresford came nearest to breaking the deadlock when Jordon MacCarter hit the post late in the second half.
